How to find the Knowledge Panel for your business
Whenever you are searching for something on Google, have you noticed this special box on the right side of the search results page?
In this guide, we will show you what a Knowledge Panel is, its importance and how to find it to use to your advantage.
What is a Knowledge Panel?
To understand what a Knowledge Panel is, we have to know first its foundation: the Knowledge Graph.
According to Google Help, Knowledge Graph is a network of vast information resources, enabling Google to answer factual questions and show information whenever someone is searching online. The goal with the Knowledge Graph is for Google's systems “... to discover and surface publicly known, factual information when it’s determined to be useful”.
This is where the Knowledge Panel comes in. These automatically-generated information boxes are curated by Google from the Knowledge Graph based on several information resources and understanding of the available content on the web, helping you get a quick snapshot or overview of the topic you are searching for.
Aside from the wide array of information resources, Google is also receiving factual information directly from content owners or general user feedback in various ways, including those who suggest changes to knowledge panels they’ve claimed. These verified updates or feedback may vary from changing the existing information on the Knowledge Panel, or the image being displayed on the box.
Why is it important for your business?
Knowledge Panels are undeniably a stand-out in Google Searches, for it has its own section on the right side of the search results page to show a quick snapshot about a specific topic. This can be beneficial for businesses in increasing visibility on the web, higher brand authority and more engagement with search engine users.
Knowledge Panels can also be a great way to help your customers know about the important details about your business and drive traffic to your website or social media pages, further enhancing your brand strength and presence online.
